Two Poems by Richard Allen Murphy HMP
Bumble Bee
If
I could be, I would be a bumble bee.
To
taste what it is to be truly free, is to be a bumble bee.
Fly
around from tree to tree, there is nowhere I have to be.
I
am not a honey bee you see, no honey from me.
I
am just happy to be a bumble bee, that’s free.
True Love
Love
is light, love is blue
I
couldn’t help but fall in love with you
We
met in the back of a hackney carriage
I
was single you, were married
We
met again three or four times
God
forgive me for my crimes.
Call
it off is what we had to do
I
told you it was best for me and you
I’m
sorry for your heart I did break
But
I have to for your family’s sake
I
could not see your children suffer
Without
their mother or their father
As
much as I want you in my life
I
could not live with taking a family’s mother and wife.
